Description


Ah64 Apache with Longbow radar. Built and rendered in Mirai. Modle has about 98,000 polys The background photo was mapped onto a "cylorama" and rendered at the same time. Lighting was set and filtered to generate a "real" shadow of the helicopter in the terrain.

Very realistic motion blur on the rotors. I am intrigued by the shadow, is the ground portion of the photo mapped on a ground plane? Is this easy to do in Mirai?

Yep WhatI did was build the terrain into a cyclorama or a curved ground plane that wrapped up into the background.Then mapped the photo onto the cyc. The with in Mirai paint fixed up the texture tear in the 3d paint. The shadow was then cast semi naturally in the render.

Good modeling but it appears too shiney (especially the wheels). A little weathering of the textures would add the right touch.
