Description
Struggling through hollowness,
finding shattered pieces
scattered inside.

I was feeling rather down today, prematurely halting the progress on the image I was working on this afternoon, and bringing this into being instead. He just kept haunting me and as I sketched him, he reminded me of someone who is recovering from a broken heart. Not that I am *L* Mine's in the best form its ever been...its just a case of the blues.

my beloved... oh sweetie, this is so intense... I wish I could hug you now to make you feel better... As I am back home, I'll write U a HUGE mail. Your art is always impressive. But you are even more as soul and person. Kisses :)

To me he looks exhausted, as if the height he is climbing is almost insurmountable. He just can not make it all the way up. Really a heartbreaking image, and I am glad to hear that it is just a temporary blues of yours that led to this.

Very expressive Cassie, excellent work with the almost sightless gaze of one exhausted & withdrawn, yet the hands capture the essence of the desperate struggle. The shattered effect on the head is the perfect finishing touch!

God Cassie... I don't know how you've done it but something about this has the effect of making me feel dragged down to the floor and onto my side, and then not content with that I'm flattened until I lose my third dimension completely. It's like being folded up, I can't describe it! ooooooo hugs Hope you soon pick up, and especially the friend in question... like your new signature very much too :-)

I thought of a drug addict who passed the point of no return. In any case, excellent job!

... shattered hearts with all their fragments are more valuable than simple hearts split in two, i almost feel the need to have it to put it in my home on the mantle of my fireplace to keep it warm to keep it safe!

You've done an amazing job of capturing strong emotion in this; looking at it is to feel the hollow sadness of that face. He does look like someone brokenhearted, a person who's reached that point it's hurt so much they've gone blank and empty. I hope that creating this was cathartic for you, and that life will pull you out of those blues soonhug

From time to time I am haunted by the presence of the blues as well... a very beautifully expressive piece of work... I enjoy creating images when I am down for the finished product usually lifts me back up... Excellent :)

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts hugs. I'm feeling much better, yet glad for creating this emotionally expressive image...like Odius says, it does help to lift the spirits ;)

A powerfully portrayed expression of depression and it is surprising is it not that artists somehow can produce some of the finest images when so stricken!! Glad to hear you are well Cassie or I may be worried looking at this! Hugs D
