Don't ask why. I was just trying to see if I could make sound waves. It turned out kind of interesting. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Very interesting concept. Might be more "convincing" if you used two sources (one from each speaker hole) that kinda "rippled" together. I'm not sure what effect you are really looking for, but either you try a soft edge to your sound wave object, or add a large ripple displacement bump map to give it even more of an effect. Just a suggestion... :o)
