photo taken with a canon powershot a70 and touched up with photoshop
would really apreciate some feedback as ive only just started and i would like to know were im going wrong thankyou

try taking photos without a backlight, for starters. the light source in the back is a distraction, even though the lighting on the subjects came out good. second, if you want to "glam" up a shot, do it like this. . . (A) duplicate the base image as another layer. Blur the top layer, and drop the opacity to about 50. Outline the people in the pic, reverse the selection, and erase the background. Then invert the selection again, blur by 10 pixels. Deselect, blur by another 3 to 5 pixels, drop opacity of top layer down to 20 or 30 percent. Any questions, IM me and I'll get back to you.
