Description

Pencil on printer paper...again with the heavy hand. This was made for a challenge at another site. I can't really say I like it but, hey, it kept me busy. Here's the run down on "Team One" (what a pathetic name): From left to right we have: Shadie - The team's heavy muscle, he can lift about 80 tons and has the unique ability to blend into shadows. Spark - The team's light muscle (she can lift 10 tons) and a woman whose ability to charge objects with some form of kinetically charged, electirically based energy is surpassed only by her bad attitude. She's been known to use her clubs to blow holes into anything that ticks her off at a particular moment. (She's "killer" on a bad date if ya know what I mean) Soldier of Darkness - A former marine imbued with immortality and a mean right cross. This moody vigilante comes and goes as he pleases but is always there for the team when the chips are down. Mainstream - Blind from birth, the team's leader uses gravitational fields to help him "see" like a type of radar. (okay, maybe I'm stretching this last one a bit). His power over gravity gives him the ability to "fly" as well as deal out heavy damage to his foes. Feel free to color it if ya want.

Very cool cast of characters. Actually that last one wasn't so much of a stretch, there is one theory that says that migratory whales navigate by "seeing" the earth's magnetic/gravitational topology. The only strange thing was that this same documentary was trying to explain why whales get beached. Doh! :o)

Oh! I added some stuff to Spark's Bio. I forgot that I wanted her to blow things up with her power.

Teyon, this one is fabulous. Amazing how you got their personalities so well drawn. They fit their bios perfectly.

Well, let me offer some more praise. :) I have to compliment you on your muscular placement. It is all in perfect harmony, none of it is stretched or "forced" into place. It looks natural. You've done some homework, I'm thinking.

Hey! Thanks Juji! Yeah, I had to teach myself basic anatomy back when I was with Merge. I was the inker on staff and had to corret any mistakes the penciler made, so I had to know what looked right and what looked wrong. Since then, I've just been practicing every chance I get. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks, Eric! I use anything that will make a mark on the page, really. Pen, brush, sponge. Anything. I haven't inked in a while but I will be starting up again. This is actually just my pencil stuff... As for the designs, I try to keep 'em simple for the "official" heroes because that makes them easily recognizable and accessible. Mainstream has always been a leftover character of mine and out of desperation, I threw him in here. THe team needed a leader. :) Shadie has an X on him because my very first drawing of him was pretty bad and I draw big X's over things I don't like. When I thought the deadline for the challenge was looming, I looked at him again and decided to include the X I drew as a sort of personal joke. The only character of the bunch that I like is Spark. Probably because she was the only one whose design worked in my mind. Thanks again!

LOL, that's a good explanation for the X.("damnit! ...wait, that might work..."). I think many of my designs are little too complicated - difficult to replicate over and over (I'll post a few). I like Spark the most as well - a combination of Gambit and Buttercup ;)
