Your statement is erronious and missinformed Mohsin, The US didn't sell WMD to Iraq it was France, Germany, and Russia who sold them the equipment, and Iraq made their own weapons, as far as oil we don't need it, we have reserves to last us for 100 years, we have oil fields in Texas, and Alaska that produce more than 2.5 Million barrels a month each, 96% of our oil is from the US and NATO allied countries and less than 14% comes from the middle east, further more gas prices in the US are the lowest in 2 years, and to go further france had a deal whith saddam to exploit Iraq's oil wells,as far as our goverment, goes is not perfect, but at least we choose our leaders, we are free to do and say as we like, and we never turn our back on our frieds like certain other countries, who are just fair weather friends

Well, as far as the oil is concerned, Iraq is believed to have as much oil as Saudi Arabia - a quantum which represents the much dreaded "swing capacity" to turn the worldwide oil price. America now has gained control over these resources. That oil was of minor importance in this war is difficult to believe: US logistics camps were named after big US oil firms and the only facility that the US protected from looting in Baghdad was the Iraqi oil ministry. Apparently the US gvt does no longer try to find WMD cos it anounced today to drastically slash its already ill-staffed inspections teams. Wasn`t that the official justifications to go to war? As to "we choose our leaders": well, your present leader got less votes in the swing state of Florida than Gore and nationwide more than half a million votes less. The recounting was stopped by the Supreme Court on the grounds that continuing them would undermine the legitimacy of the President (famous words by Republican senior Justice Scalia). God knows how Scalia knew who was the President in the first place if he could never be properly ascertained. Europe is not perfect too, but at least we DO elect our representatives (we prefer that word over "leader or Fuehrer or Duce"). Americans seem to be less and less free to do and say as they like. The degree of disinformation in the media and the lack of public scepticism towards government politics is quite staggering. America keeps not only hundreds of people on Guantanamo Bay in legal limbo but has arrested around 1.200 US citizen without giving them ever the opportunity to contact relatives or see a lawyer. As to "fair weather friends", there is a difference between friends and vassals. Vassals may do anything their masters tells them to, true friends will tell their friends when they think they are wrong. Those who want friendship instead of masters-and-servant relations will appreciate this.

US is the bigest producer of MDW's in the whole world. And what you said about your oil, thats just another desinformation "our oil reserves last us for hundret years" if you realy belive this, your very funny. But even if you would be right, your oil is not enough, not enough to rule the world as your governement is planning it and therefor they need the oil of the arab countries, thats the only reson for war. I by myself think that most amerikans wont give up there pro war until the Amerikan cities lay in ruins like the German cities after WW2, and and if your governement goes on with it's policy, it wont be very long until this happens.
