Cool , you should have added the huge thruster tails the StarFuries had when engaged in high speeds to give this scene a better sense of motion.

Here you go, complete with trust trail, They are not stars but the flying debris from an huge explosion behind the starfury. The effect was created by creating a random points sphere. Then increasing its scale across a number of frames. Converting the points to poly's and boosting up the luminosity and applying particle blur and glow effect to the "debris" causes Lightwave to render the hot streaks as you see them. A central point light light source at the middle of the object lights the points and the further away and the less densly packed the points the dimmer the glow effect. The only way to create such effects is to actually create a animation and then select a frame that gets all of the elements to render the way you want them. This is frame 16 of a 60 frame animation where all objects in the frame are in motion. With no animated motion in a LW frame there can be none of the dynamics you see in the render.

wow now that is flashy :) If you created the model kudos if you didn't you still get kudos for one heck of a cool render. Peace out and party on. Nick

Hmm, I hate to suck up, but it's a truly great render. Perheps you could try just a slight variation in the colors of the particles as they drift further from the center of the explosion. Not sure it would help your scene but I think it might give just a tad more focus on the ship. Ok. A 9.8 for you... oh... I can't work in decimals? I'll make an exception then and give you a 10.
