Description

First attempt at painting trees and foliage - thanks to the great Hobbit for his superb tutorial (at his site). Not quite there yet, but pleased with the result - quite hard work, not having any drawing or painting experience to fall back on, and took too many hours to mention in Photoshop, but very rewarding. Will definitely continue to practice this particular discipline. Thanks to Ravenhart for his landscaping kit, and Hankster for the superb temple ruins model. Hollow logs and ferns from RDNA - a joy to work with as always. Thanks for looking - Ian

Beautiful results from your painting! You have a nice eye for color and that pulls together the 3d and 2d elements perfectly. Painter is fun to play with too if you like 2d digital painting--sometimes you can get older version off ebay and bundled with Wacom tablets.

If you ask me Ian, i think youve done a very fine work here, especially with no drawing/painting experience. For a first attempt, this is excellent work! Keep it up!

Really Congratulation for your great work on this the softness of this picture is great:) and great paint for the trees I am the first to say.But I know this is not an easy job.and the practice is the best friend I have found for the tree.light and shadow .another time bravo. Melany
