Description

O Lacrimosa, let it rain, here inside the cathedral in my mind A temple built for one found in the altar of an eye, holy ghost, imperceptible host, unblinking zarathustra cataracted blind, unconstructed and unkind O Lacrimosa, wet pink tears, for mankind (S. Raven) Nikon/Photoshop This image was constructed using two digital photographs I took, one on Saturday, in a heavily industrialized area, it is actually two stacks with what appeared to be a metal, crosslike girder in between them, the eye comes from a photo taken in February, that I had almost ditched due to camera shake. The postwork was done in photoshop.

Here's lookin at you, Kid. (Read as Humphrey Bogart) ;~) This is an awesome piece of artwork Syyd. Very well done. I specially like the 3d look to the dripping paint. The roundness to the globs at the ends of each strand is excellent. ;~) Big Smile! -Ray-

I find your aesthetics impressive. The effect is very dramatic and concentrated in the eye that seems to cry everywhere. The hurt eye of the world, for the whole pain that contemplates?

Very beautiful poetry, evidently this it is a work that uses symbols what I find interesting, since the design reflects what you say the words, technically the pictures they are perfectly mounted and curious textures are believed as those that simulate the threads of the post, original concept and work.

Oh wow, this is beautiful - I love the taking of found objects and conversion into their most basic and symbolic forms... which is what you seem to have done. The title is a nod to Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem. Your work is so much deeper than the usual mass-produced pseudo-gothic stuff I see around, it's about real feelings rather than looking cool.

Well Chaosphere you got it dead on....I worked to the Lacrimosa once I figured out it was going to be the eye. It was about half way in that I saw the eye, which was not in the image yet. Immediately I went to the Requiem and I dont know what inspired me more actually the word "Lacrimosa", or the music. But then I knew I had to make tears

Wonderful imagery and words Syyd and no need to cry for mankind...ignorance is a self-inflicted wound.

Very artsy syyd and very cool...ah and chaosphere to say that others are mass producing gothic stuff just for the sake of looking cool is really stepping on toes. Not too many get into art and spend countless hours behind this dead machine to create lifless and feelingless work...we can all bestow blessings on great work without damaging others work to eh.....:)

No, he's right, and I'm guilty as charged too, (kinda) although I like to think I'm a bit more serious than most. Nice pic, but I think you overdid the dripping. I'd rather see fewer and thicker strands.
