Not my usual brassy, colorful illustration style. Just something contemplative I did on a wistful Sunday afternoon, thinking about whatever.

Come to think of it J.B. Allen's really excellent "low tide" tutorial did give me some techniques for this image. Excuse me for naming this after his tutorial. He also has fantastic tuts on building sea waves and realistic forests. A great artist!

JBA's tutorials are a great source for us all, so don't worry about using them! You did a very good job, the sense of scale is spot-on. You may want to tweak a little more the sand mat, maybe, but this is just a nitpick.

Yeah I agree on the sand. I was going for a scarred over centuries effect, but it's a little too regimented. A little noise and randomness may help.
