Description
A shameless title I know. The mist at the top of the image is too bright and almost gives the impression that the mountain top ends there...it doesn't. The real life sight fades slowly (steep and upwards) into oblivion, helped by the immediate viewer's innate sense of perspective that has been stolen by some guy who has used Photoshop to stitch together 9 pictures from top to bottom. Perspective is a tricky thing.
Imagine the sense of isolation you would feel if you were suddenly thrust into the role of the long gone inhabitant of this old cabin. I would like to know the history of this place; though the story is likely to have already faded away into the fabric of time.

The title is shameless ;) yep :) I missed your pictures.. I'll have a long journey in your gallery to see what I missed these days :) Now.. technically this is purely impressive :) It's one of those things that enlarges my will to get deeper about photography technique. Thank you for being such an inspiration :)

Spectacular image. Joining 9 images must have been a lot of work. Re: "I actually long for the history of this place" ... could you check the county land records?

An original and creative idea and excellent photography as well makes this one a keeper in my book!!

Terrific job! I tried a totem pole of about nine photos and failed poorly. It didn't help that my camera was hand held. I'm guessing the tenants decided to build elsewhere, as that cabin looks subsceptible to a land slide from above :s

I didn't use a tripod for this so I had to be careful.

I dont know how you stopped yourself from goin right up to the very cabin itself,i would have tried everyway to get there, i dont think i would have been completely disillusioned either if i had found an old chevy on on blocks in the front yard, might have added to the contradiction of the whole theme. this is really a very beautiful piece, and i envy the views you are surrounded by in your enviroment.
