Married to Claire, aka PurpleJelly, a not-currently-active member here. We have two children, Samuel and Ilona. Sam has recently been diagnosed with autism and Ilona appears to be pretty much the same but we're awaiting the outcome of further tests. We all share our house with nine (yes, nine!) cats. Good job it's a big house.
Due to the little ones, I don't spend as much time here as I used to, but I'm intending to spend more time working on my modelling and hopefully selling a few bits and pieces here. I have an extensive range of Dalek models available in Freestuff, and at least one other non-Dalek freebie. More freebies will be forthcoming as time allows, including - but not limited to - more Dalek stuff and perhaps the odd bit of scenery and general SF stuff.

Yo!!! "I found my way . Towards the new day . Left my conscience way behind . tumble . tumble . Here we go " ---- I recognised that inscription immediately. I just had a look at your gallery and I guess I got a faint idea why you made this picture. Seems that you are getting over it and are on a good way. There is always room for being cheerful ;) What does KJ mean to you? As for me, no music has ever moved and influenced me so much as theirs. Cheers, Sven

lookoo... The Joke are a big part of my listening pleasure, and have been since the days of Requiem. They are a release of energy and anger for me, something like the pics I've been creating recently. Thanks for your comments.

The only musical reference I get is the one to "If I only had a brain" from "Wizard of Oz." So I'm sure the meaning of this image as intended by its creator is somewhat lost on me. Still, for my frame of reference, this image conveys a usurped idol with clay feet. The reference to the lyric is uplifting, though the image literally depicts vandalism or destruction.

Let me see if I can untangle everything here... The bronze statue is Sam Therapy, as opposed to Paul A Bellamy. Sam represents everything Paul apsired to - he's Batman, the superhero, the loudmouth party animal who can talk to anyone, do anything and always be cool. He's also the persona Paul can adopt when he treads the boards. Sam can laugh at anything, hence the quote on the pedestal. What lookoo picked up on is that the quote is also used by my all-time favourite band, Killing Joke. The other song "I could while away the hours" is yet another reference to how Paul feels he fits into society - he has the idea of being a scarecrow - the pariah, the one who everyone is frightened of, but is really here just to be accepted for what he is inside, even if it is only sawdust and straw. The statue is broken and smashed because Paul is heartily sick of people seeing only Sam, and wants a bit of the limelight, too. The clockwork mouse is there as a bit of an in joke - it's what both Paul and Sam believe they were given instead of a soul.

Sometimes we rock, sometimes we roll, and at other times we coast, and with each tempo, we can appear as another identity. Then one day, we realize we are on a conveyor belt of sameness, and secretly yearn for the 'Rollercoaster' again, at least that part that tells us we are alive. Well, isn't that a happy thought! ;) It's all in our power, we don't need a rollercoaster.
