Description
Inspired by the movie I wanted to recreate the mood that ILM achieved, altho their model was not CG but a real miniature, I used a few tricks with lighting to achieve the near photorealistic feel. People in the water are hundreds of little sprites that contain image maps of drowning people created in poser. Minimal Postprocessing in Photoshop (added the splashes and falling people) The crack in the middle(the fallin pieces) is around 300,000 particles, the whole thing can be animated as it is a self contained scene in a skydome.

It really looks like a scene from the movie so mission acomplished. But i must say that you did som amaizing work on this picture, im most impressed by the splash in the far right of the picture, very realistic. |:D
