the smoke WAS a bryce texture but then i went and smudged the hell out of it! i never should have gotten the GIMP photo editor now i'm constantly going overboard with the post work. need an intervention

What are you talking about? I think it looks great...I don't see anything wrong with it, the smudging is fine and doesn't look like you went over board. It looks like the battle just ended and that's the purpose of the render right? Plkus with it being a cold day, there would be more smoke. So you did good, give yourself a pat on the back, it's a great piece of work.

I agree with tyebo... why complain about postwork, if the postwork is done so well? Great image!

well ok, i agree the post work here i think i did a pretty good job on, but if you go look in my gallery at the pics titled "evasive action" and "boom" you'll see what i mean. those were the first two i did postwork on and i was like a kid in a toy store going oh look at was this does!! oh look at what that does!! to many toys, not enough room to play with em all, but i tried
