Description

This is #2 image of my series of magic moments of technology. Once I was sharing an apartment with Rosy. We shared the daily chores too. She didn't like to do the laundry. I didn't like to clean up. Somehow we just almost without any word agreed on the job division. I used to go to do the laundry in the laundry room that was in the basement. In that room was very humid and hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. While waiting the washing machine to finish its job, not once I contemplated if I made the right decision. What I was wandering, was whether would be better to clean up the apartment than sitting in the dump and hot laundry room. Sometimes I made a laundry date with other tenants in the building. Most of the time I liked to meet Roger. Roger was in his forties and he was an actor. He wasn't one of the famous actors, but he was a good character actor and as such almost always had some job. We were talking about almost everything. I liked very much his broadminded thinking and his calmness. When we were not talking we were reading. He was reading scripts, I was reading the NeighborHoodHerald. One day when it was especially very hot and humid, around mid August, I really did not want to sit in the laundry room. Roger came, and even he could not cheer me up. I hardly listen to him, all the time I was thinking about the nicely air-conditioned apartment, just some flights up from where I was sitting. Roger noticed that I am not listening to him. He asked me what was bothering me. I told him. He smiled a very little smile and asked me: 'Do you really think that cleaning up is better than sitting with me here?'. 'Oh, mmm... no... not at all...' I sad. 'You know -I continued- what is bothering me, that I just do not know if I made the right choice... I just do not know...
