Description

Most..."uncool" I think of this photograph. Typically I do not like to post uncool stuff, but today I thought I would. This makes me mad to say the least. All this good art work. For what? To compete in todays crazy world of business with more than enough competition already. Most cool art, in contrast most deceptive in more ways than one. They (food companies) seem to have this down to a science in terms of color, contrast, and composition for marketing. To get deep into Your brain, so they can gain...your cash, so they can buy more ink to make art to be thrown away. Only to be thrown away, burned or on the street(another topic altogether..grrrrr). Some gets recycled, does the ink? I think not. How much ink is thrown away I wonder. Prob. enough to feed more than quit a few starving and hungry people who don't have fancy graphic arts jobs to buy groceries.(just a figure of speech, nothing personal to any Graphic Artists here ;-)This makes me sad, and mad, but more sad. It is the way things are right now where I live in USA, and many other countries that are fortunate enough to even have food for all. Why is it then that all don't have it then? Probably because of all the ink that gets thrown away is what I think, and this is most unfortunate I think. Thank You for looking, and Love and Peace. :-) post work with HP Photo Editor software: sharpen/resize

Thanks for taking time to check this out Tedz. Much appreciated as always. This Capitalism of wasted ink seems a bit anti-Social-ism to me. ;-)

Having spent years in both research chemistry and marketing/design pertaining to automotive paint, I know exactly what you're saying. Many are the day that I voiced similar gripes about contributing all this work (be in the lab or in the studio) to something that adds no real value to a car and serves little or no purpose other than to enrich the shareholder... Nice work -- showing that artwork can be anything that makes your statement or provokes thought in the viewer. And to quote Andrew Eldritch, "Screw Shareholder Value." Good work!

jeff, i don't find this uncool at all! on the contrary, this is a most important topic, and i happen to agree with what you said. Ink is expensive man. and it's not biodegradable. did you know that toilet paper, tissues, or paper towels that have pretty colors on them are NOT biodegradable??? all that paper is just gonna be in the earth for like hundreds of thousands of years. Jeff...i would love it if you would post a link to this in the forum. did you know our challenge this month is social issues? i think it would be great for this image to be seen by more people!!!!! And that you put it under horror was right on. high 5s you cool soul brother!!!!

After posting this I thought that maybe I insulted someone. Afterall this is an art community, and it is quite possible one of the Rendo Members is an employee in the advertisement arts. I feel kind of bad now...but whatever...-Peace :-)
