you might have centered to the face of the character to focus the subject. Nice modeling and light.

Well, I learned early that you will make an image more interesting by not center the main object. Believe it or not, but when you center a character or whatever it might be, the viewers will lose interest pretty quickly. The reason I have a dark area on the left side is to make the mood in the image more visible.
