Description

This landscape is typically for my homeland in the northern part of Austria, where I was born. Wind and rains created these wild stone formations over thousands of years It is a rough country, but I love it and so i spend my weekends in this fascinating landscape.

That's almost like a stone cathedral. It's wonderful that every country has its own special beauty. I know Austria must be lovely. I love your image and expecially the chaotic, storm-approaching feel of it. It's like hurry and get this done...even the horses seem to feel the urgency. :O)

Wonderful image! Excellent landscape and atmosphere. I like the horses ... very well done! (Meinst du vielleicht das Waldviertel? Die Steine erinnern mich irgendwie an die Blockheide ... ;))

Everything about this image is remarkable...the atmosphere lends itself to the overall theme of toil and dependance upon nature. The horses are beautifully posed, bent with their labour. Easily a 10+ Helmut!

Utter perfection! As a horse person, I love the poses of the horses - very real! Irish is right, the atmosphere does reflect the theme!

Beautiful composition, horses are very lifelike. Atmosphere gives impresion of heavy moist weather before a storm. The dead tree is perfecly position for effect.

Super, Helmut! Geflt mir echt prima. Die Pose der beiden Pferde ist wirklich gut getroffen und die Landschaft ist wirklich interessant. Klasse ist auch das Zuggeschirr - wo kann man das denn herbekommen? ;) Mach weiter, so! Phil

You have captured the straining of the horses to pull the plough brilliantly! The piles of massive rocks if anything are even better - very monumental and impressively textured. The atmosphere too is wonderful. My only suggestion to improve this superb mage would be to reduce the contrast between the texturing of the background and the main subject. The apparent distance between them does not seem to justify such a large difference in colour saturation and clarity, and I think the two parts would integrate better with the tonal values of the farmer adn horses slightly more subdued. But it gets my vote anyway as it stands.

Helmut, thanks for this lovely picture! It seems to me that you wanted these wonderful horses to be a central point. They are just beautiful as all of your work!!! Gre vom schwedischen Mchen :)
