Not bad for the second attempt,but I think for a good image it is necessary as first to choose a terrain which is seen good overall(the hills on background are not seen good),than necessary choosing a good wievpoint. And than.. surface working etc..

I agree - think U should choose a better terrain...

As a second pic, this is good for me. You should use World machine or Terraformer for generate terrains... see Terrasource for links, or Terradreams. Try to improve surface map, etc ;)
