Description


At Andrews AFB air show. It is a Yak 3 I can't ID the exact model. The bubble canopy doesn't show up in my books.

Looks like a double seater (most warbirds now-a-days have a second seat installed in order to give rides and generate some money for the aircraft). Looks like they ripped the P-51 Mustang's design right from the USAAF blueprints and built their own version! (Typical!)

Just like the TU-4 a direct ripoff of the B29.

Awesome shot! It is a Yak-3UA. In the mid 1990s Yakolev built 20 or so completely new airframes expressly for the warbird/airshow market. The only difference between these and the WW2 variants is that they have they have an American Allison V1710 engine in liu of the original Russian engine.
