The blade itself looks pretty good, perhaps a bit short. Also, you might try enlarging the corona around it. The hilt, however, is much larger than the ones in the movies... Which you CAN get away with, but you might still try tweaking. Yes, I am a geek ;)

i did the blade in Photoshop using the rotoscoping tutorial found at theforce.net

Ummm... I think the blade is crooked relative to the hilt. --

Well, you might want to look into LIA+ (Lightsabers In Action) It does a beautiful job of sabers in photoshop. It's a set of pre-created actions, so it takes some getting use to, but it's effects are definatly nice. http://lia-plus.com/

The sabre effect itself is fine!!! - Sabre handle is way to big tho and the blade is a little short. Blade is also crooked. to prevent this, if you build the sabre, build the blade as well and set it to an ambient, white material. that way, you have a strongly defined shape to select and postwork. Other wise, download one from SWMA. - the mountains look like a photo background to me!

Hey, what is SWMA?

the mountains are a phot background... this was only a test shot that i did while i was working and a full length saber fight for a movie my friends and i are filming. Just wanted to see what it looks like

You should add some source lighting. THe Light Saber would be casting some light onto the person holding it.
