I like this one alot! As far as a background, your eyes are drawn to her face immediatly just the way it is. Darker? No way, great coloring!

Black hair has always been the hardest for me to paint. You've done a wonderful job here. As for the background, any color but gray might be better, but Axe is right, your eyes are drawn to her face more the way it is now.

hehe, i fixed the pic after the first post, it was quite light at first. Hmmm, not that i hang around here waiting for comments... no no not me ;)
