I love peaceful fantasy images ;) but why didn't you use a transparency map for the barmaid's hair?

Garan (re: trans map) - think of this as a "cartoon" or comic book type image if it helps...I always see comments on people's works like "nice image, but you should use a transparency map for the hair"...why is that? trans maps are nice and I've used them myself (they definitely have their place) but I don't think every image necessarily needs them...but why did you single out the barmaid? :)
