jawdropper - reduced to its simplest elements just like a Durer. how simple and effective, low bandwidth rules as proven here. bet this would play as ASCII art. instantly a vote

This looks very nice, but i don't feel it properly addresses its title... The price of money is a fantastic concept that needs to be tackled in our current climate which priviledges commerce over art and passion; yet this picture doesn't really raise any questions on the topic. This may be just me, I am apt to miss certain details and references in visual art as I am a musician primarily. However, I don't see much in this picture that suggests that wealth comes at a heavy price... the character is obviously well fed, wealthy enough to be well dressed and own an ostensibly well crafted (and thus expensive) timepiece, yet he appears to be only mildly bored by what is presumably an excess of leisure time, rather than truly paying the price for his excessive capitalist ways. Is he truly lonely in his mansion, surrounded by food and fine wine? If the price of money is that we can eat well and have enough time to become slightly ennuied, then perhaps we have nothing to worry about in our overly consumerist lifestyles?
