Description
This is my second Bryce render and my first attempt at modeling (lamp post with Bryce primitives). It's not exactly what I was going for, but I'm still learning... so I figured, "What the hey; I'm close enough." I really tested the abilities of my poor little 64MB RAM computer by rendering this at the largest size Bryce would allow; it took all night, and I didn't even let it finish anti-aliasing when I got up in the morning. The original render continues to the left with more sky and water, and I've turned it into desktop wallpaper with a calender on the left, that version of which I would have posted here if so much of the detail wasn't lost in the resizing.
As always, tips and tricks are always welcome.
Inspiration: Michael Whelan's "Erosion"
Tools: Poser 3, Bryce 3D, Photoshop LE

All I can say is wow. I really like this and seeing how the hair and cloth is posed I can't see how it is a beginner's work. This one has made me think how I might do something similar. Thanks, keep up the work.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I wish my beginners efforts had been like this - it's taken me years to get some of those effects. I might have done away with the ground plae, or used a mirror texture to reflect the sky and give it a floating "Roger Dean" look to the scene... But overall, truly excellent.

Took all night, eh? And it was still going the next morning? Count yourself lucky, my dear -- if my 64MB RAM computer had made a similar attempt, it would not only have frozen itself into oblivion in the wee hours, but I'd have been burying it behind my parking lot the next morning after holding funeral services for it. You definitely have talent!
