It looks like twists of gold pyrite. The lighting and softness of the background really sets off the form and texture of the flame.

After seeing Carol's 'twists of gold pyrite' comment and as I wasn't happy with my previous prosaic 'can't think of a title' choice of "Metal and Wire" I change the title to "Pyrite gold twist"....which sounds far more exotic!
