Cool image, I like the shifted perspective. Only thing is, the shadows look like the light is below the lampshade. Otherwise really nice work.

Yea, congrats on your first scene. One suggestion, this render has the telll-tale signs of too high anti-alias settings (a bit blurry). And I think the perspective is a bit too forced. Perhaps, back the camera up a bit and zoom in on the subject matter. Again, congrats and keep on rendering! dano

Tom and Dan has some points above, but this is really cool and impressive first scene i Max. I actually like that forced perspective (matter of taste i suppose). Very good work with both models, the materials and light.
