Description

This digital photo is of a statue located by the Port of Olympia. It is a dedication to all the extinct species out there; most of which are those taken out by the so-called "progress" of Man on this Planet Earth. To me this does not seem like a good thing. How would we like it if we joined the list of extinction? It seems as if we are working torwards such self termination with all the fighting, nuclear warheads, ect. Perhaps this is our fate? Hopefully it is not too late. As long as we are still around though let it be said by me that this is not fair to other animals, let alone our selves, and I think that we as a Human race must work harder to avoid such matters of extinction for all life involved. There are no excuses for such turmoil of Life. Thanks for looking. -Peace :-) (postwork w/HP Photo Editor: sharpen/resize)

Well caught Photo...Your Statement is Commendable, and there will be a lot more Extinction, without Voice such as Yourself to Champion such a cause.

i don't believe i have seen any of these species (the dodo bird i find the most fascinating) & my daughter will never see them plus quite a few others- how many more will we add to the list that grows everyday as we continuously kill off their habitats- i can honestly say i feel honoured to work for our parks system to help protect & conserve the land & a few other endangered species to share with the public through knowledge & awareness whew :]

I saw on the news once, that every week, one species in the world goes instinct.

Thank You All 4 time to look at this and for commenting. Sorry to sound so morbid here, but at least there is an awareness shared by many for the better, and for a more peaceful co-existence among all. :-)

hmmmmm? Your right. It all comes down to giving up the excesses, and acknowledging that even when we think we're being sharing and caring, we're not~ many of us will still go home to buy tons more of what we just gave away and even have fights over it. Its like giving away sand. Nice angle! Great shot.

a truely well done shot: the composition is full of the thoughtfullness and concern your intentions for the message were bound to suggest to viewers. Compliments :)
