Description

Black Cow - By Steely Dan In the corner Of my eye I saw you in Rudy's You were very high You were high It was a cryin' disgrace They saw your face On the counter By your keys Was a book of numbers And your remedies One of these Surely will screen out the sorrow But where are you tomorrow I can't cry anymore While you run around Break away Just when it Seems so clear That it's Over now Drink your big black cow And get out of here Down to Greene Street There you go Lookin' so outrageous And they tell you so You should know How all the pros play the game You change your name Like a gangster On the run You will stagger homeward To your precious one I'm the one Who must make everything right Talk it out till daylight I don't care anymore Why you run around Break away Just when it Seems so clear That it's Over now Drink your big black cow And get out of here ******************************** I'd been wanting to do something like this for a while... ICM's challange and StephenRay's Steely Dan tribute gallery provided the kick in the butt to get it done. I modelled the mug, spoon, address book, shakers, and napkin holder in Carrara 1.1. Other stuff from freestuff here and 3DCafe, and from Carrara content CD. Textured using Bryce and Painter 6. Final 6 hour render in Bryce on normal AA (my longest yet, woohoo) with, probably another 3 hours in plop renders. Thanks for taking a peek.

This is fantastic. Your models look great! The textures are terrific. It gives the feeling that you can just reach out and pick up those object. Very realistic. Excellent image, good luck with the challenge! -SeaC-

As a Brycer AND a Danophile, I love it! Nice lighting...and you used the "proper" Black Cow - not the mixed drink that many feel D&W were alluding to...

LMAO... I love it!! you know, if the scene file wasn't something like 130 megs I'd send it to you. Maybe you should check out the forum more often and learn these and other useful techniques.

FW, yeah, cracks me up too. With all the threads on global lighting, simulating HDRI and Radiosity in Bryce, you'd think he'd get a clue.

for those in the dark.... someone (name withheld because I can't even remember now, LMAO) left a comment stating "for a fact" that this image was not done in Bryce... it has since been deleted... I wonder why....
