Description

Repost, restocking gallery. I've been apologizing for the watermarks, and been called down on them a few times. I'm not going to apologize anymore. I want to show my work, there's no real point in doing it if no one ever sees it. But I'm tired of the thieves, and I'm tired of losing money, and this is the only recourse. If you're so against trying to protect them, please, just skip my work.

Hey, the watermarks are a bummer, but what can you do? I will still always look at your work because it is stunning and original best, e.d.

Honestly, if everybody had their works here riddled with watermarks just as yours' I would no longer go to Rosity - or I would "advertise" with a big "100% unspoiled art, not behind bars" on my Thumpnails, LOL! I've read your explanation, I am not calling down on you, I just think that you are spoiling your own presentation. I mean, if you were to make a living from this with art prints etc - OK, but I still think that we are not yet that commercialized in this gallery. Someone is making money with your art? Cool, Babe! I guess thats a greater boost for your ego than 30 comments ;), Kick their ass if you like, chase the admins at them and quietly enjoy your celeb status. For heaven's sake, I am an Intellectual Property lawyer, may I pleeeeeease safely enjoy some good renders after work WITHOUT gigantic (C) messages leaping straight into my face without any warning? ... Hey, I like your stuff ... don`t let the bastards win by spoiling it yourself. My 10 cents ;)

You can safely enjoy renders without them -- just not mine. There are far better artists out there, so as I said, feel free to ignore anything I post and just skip it entirely. The only way to stop the problems I've had is to keep it from being usable by thieves.
It's not cool, it's theft, and it's taking food out of the mouths of my children. I take that very personally.

Love the image. As far as I can see, you have the right to protect your work, but I notice no credit given to the developers of your composited image i.e. Neftis' Yann hair, the background cyc, etc. Don't you think turn around is fair, also?

I figure if I paid for it, I paid for the licensing to use them without turning image credits into the yellow pages. There isn't a single freebie item in this scene, it was all built either by me, or paid for by me.

Lookoo, I think you are sadly mistaken on many points. Yes, there are a large number of us here at Renderosity that ARE professional artists. We gt paid to create images. I'm sure Pooka would LOVE to share her art without the copyright watermarks, but since you were so conspicuously ABSENT when she was fighting image theft and the DMCA that is SO PATENTELY SKEWED towards the theives, perhaps you should LOOK INTO that DMCA document and try to help those of us who fear to share our art and not get ripped off by every 12 year old with a right click and internet access. Or mebbe you could contact a few of these free web space providers PRO BONO when one of us is ripped off and they ignore us. Hmm? didn't think so.

I'm just glad to be able to see your work again -- in a manner that secures your rights to your art! Only thing I regret is the loss of story. This is a dazzlingly beautiful work.

Am I to understand people were actually stealing your story text as well?!?!?!?!?!?!?! People have no shame. I am sorry Pooka. Someone has done you seriously wrong. I can only thank you for all that you are willing to continue sharing with us.

Hi, i always apreciate your work and i completely agree with the image proctection but i think that the copyright mark could be "less damaging". Maybe a "tatoo", a sign mark or something else. (like Dash or other artists). Wonderful image.

I tried that. They were marked over with solid blocks, or painted to match.
