Description

Every once in a while I take a spell to get hooked on a cassette or cd and just wear that puppy smooth out listening to it over and over. This time it happens to be the "Graceland" album. So here is an interpretation of the moods and flavors of that album and a humble tribute to the music of Paul Simon and the wonderful rhythms and sounds of Joseph Shambalala and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. I spent way too much time on this. It's actually three fractals combined. The frame has 99 layers, the central landscape 98 layers, and the giraffe 73 layers. Each was built and rendered separately and then combined in Photo Draw, with the giraffe being flipped and repeated. One small photograph was added as well. Thanks very much for looking and this and all my past images, hope you enjoy it.

This image is too good :-) And the number of layers begins to escape finite numbers :-)

Simply breathtaking, Maria! Just an impressive composition. One of the neatest frames I've ever seen and the "giraffractals" are amazing! Thought they were "brought in" till I read the caption - holy moley, they're somthing else!

Great composition. You've out done yourself again. I like the clouds and trees. The giraffe is flawless. If you were to break it open and mess with it again, I would consider a redo of the moon, but that's just me. Moons look more like flat disks than spheres. Great planning in combining three images, also a great idea. The frame is a perfect fit for the theme.

Hello Maria, The most impressed I was about your subscription about this all. Frame: 99 layers and so on; etcetera. This needs a very special quality and skill from people. Those two are going hand in hand with your personality. You are the one which teach us that the world is not turning around us, but we turn together with the whole atlas. You are teaching us: people, let us take time for listening nice and fine music and under the influence and effect from that kind of music I create something new; something never seen before. But also: People take the time to listening to each other; listen what the other woman/man has to tell to you. We are living in a hurry-up and stressful society. Your image with in total 270 layers is demonstrating, proving and showing us the contrary. And I am glad about it; you have the courage to show it to us. And that is my opinion. And your image is just great. And a personal question: Is it possible to recieve the UPR from the frame (99 layers)?????
