why? am i a better artist if i "manage" to add a backdrop or a cubic enviroment? ;) nah i felt that emptyness was the way to go with this one.

yeah it does need an environment. for something to look like a metal it needs to have something to reflect. Otherwise it looks like ceramic, like Quikp51 said.
