Description

*Monday morning runs to Sunday night Screaming slow me down before the new year dies It won't take much to kill a lovin' smile And every mother with a baby cryin' in her arms singin Give me Help, give me Strength Give a soul a Night of fearless sleep Give me love, give me peace Don't you know these days you pay for everything Got high hopes Comin' from the cities, comin' from the wild I see a breathless army breakin' like a cloud It's gonna smother love it's gonna shoot your hopes Before the meek inherit they'll learn to hate themselves Singin' Give me Help, give me Strength Give a soul a Night of fearless sleep Give me love, give me peace Don't you know these days you pay for everything Got high hopes So tell me someone what's the price I wanna buy some time and maybe live my life I wanna have a wife I wanna have some kids I want to look in their eyes and know they're gonna stand a chance Singin' Give me Help, give me Strength Give a soul a Night of fearless sleep Give me love, give me peace Don't you know these days you pay for everything Got high hopes * HIGH HOPES Bruce Springsteen -------------------- Pencil 2B and 6B ------------------- Gvapo was among the first ever commenting my works back to my first days here, around March 2002. From then, every now and again, it was always a pleasure to interact with him, a very educated, smart man full of passionate sights on life and art.. and so it was natural to ask him to be portraited. Also because, you see it from here, he's a very handsome young man innit? And I still keen at beauty, of every sort ;) Hope you like it dear, and that you will be glad to hang the original up to your walls :) Hugs and take always care.. I chose that song because I am very into Bruce, and i think it suits also your moment(s): love come back soon :) Love always is... born to run, gotta catch it and never let it fade, gotta have a burning, shining heart to keep it safe. Loyalty, sincerity, openess.. you have this all, so love will shine again soon, real one, I mean.Take care :) :) Kisses, and enjoy you all :)

Well, looks like you've done it again, Meli - combining images with the perfect words dedicated to your friends became one of your real specialties. I love this one, just as I loved the rest of your portraits :)))

I like the way you work with pencils :-) And the way you write down your thoughts belonging to the image, the story behing it.

You are far too modest Mel. An artist brings life and beauty to their work and you do both. This is a fine example of such...

Yes Melli, you are too modest. You have a talent, be proud of it and keep using it to bring happiness to yourself and others. As always, Huggs from the Genma

If you don't want to hear it, I won't say you are an artist... Surely your portraits are a pleasure to see.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, and I behold this to be art, thus you are an artist...end of debate :-P This is so full of life, a true portrait that glows with character in your usual charming style. Thank you so much for sharing it hugs :D

I've given up with the is-she-or-is-she-not-an-artist debate, as arguing is pretty fruitless with an angel as stubborn as you ;-)
Anyway... whatever... I don't consider it that important, what IS important is that people enjoy your work and thus enjoy YOU, and it's so natural and easy to do so :-)
Again you're following your natural expression and showing care through it... I wouldn't know how to give you useful criticism on a work like this, it's just such a world away from what I do myself, so I'll settle with sitting back and appreciating what you can do... and you're improving all the time :-)
Look forward to the chat tonight :-)

Your portraits are always a pleasure to look at as you seem able to capture the person's being as well as their physical self too. this one is really excellent.

I think you have been out-voted and you are considered an artist and a very caring touching person. give up. the masses have spoken. This is again a wonderful portrait and with all the other superlatives said..it shows classic style and imagination.

Good portrait. The tilt of the head and the chin resting on the hand are very descriptive of a thoughtful personality. On the technical side I like the mix of vigorous line and economic modeling. It has a very elegant look.

Can't add anything to all the above comments, except that I am highly impressed with the feeling and emotion you are able to give this person as he looks out at the viewer. Wonderful art.

excellent, you can really capture my eyes with those eyes!! wasn't it Atilla who said "it's not enough for gallimel to win. All others must fail!" i'd disagree with that, because here, we all win! thanks meli.
