this is the coolest big sparkle ive seen yet..great modeling..i did one that looked like a jack..but i would have much rather it turn out like this..excellent.

Thanks for your comments. The model is metaballs - one big round on in the middle, and a lot of very stretched ones running through it - the first one is vertical, the second horizontal left to right, the third horizontal back to front. Then I copied and pasted and rotated them around 45 degrees, over and over again until I had this spiny critter.
