My name is James Lee. I am a self-taught 3D graphics artist living in Brighton, Michigan. Im a big fan of science fiction and cinema, finding design inspiration from movies like Star Wars and Blade Runner.
I use Rhinocerous (modelling), Poser 5 (figures), Cinema 4D (modelling and rendering), PhotoPaint 10 (post-production and texturing)
My current body of work focuses on an accidental heroine, a mouse named Claude, and an ensemble of alien characters caught up in unusual circumstances. BIO Proud to be featured on

Hey jjsmlee, ive long awaited your picture. Absolutely stunning, a 10+ from me. What renderer do you use, looks like Lightwave?
jjsmlee
This was rendered completely in Bryce. Don't know how to use anything else yet.

I just checked the rest of the series, and I have to say, this is the best work I've EVER seen on Rosity!! Each image has been so lovingly crafted it must have taken forever! The concept behind the story is a delicious twist on the usual alien amok on a spaceship, is it something you have written yourself? Can't wait for more!!!!!!!

Absolutely Superb work, honestly cant fault it! - I'm off to check out the rest of this series!!

I'm amazed that you were not nominated for AOTM. I'll be sure to remedy that next time around. The atmosphere in these illustrations is great. I've enjoyed following this series and wait for more. I should do more scene work. One thing at a time I guess. Best of luck. - AG

Wow! This is a solid 10 if there ever was one. Your work is top of the line, as always. If you ever would like to publish your work on a site of your own, I'd be happy to host it for free!

I'm with Curio and Archangel_Gabriel on your work. Your stuff is definitely among the very, very best, and I'm just stunned that you did this in Bryce; I had no idea Bryce was capable of anything this good. Please continue to post images. I will second Gabriel's nomination.

Awesome, as usual, jjsmlee!! The interaction of the lighting with the (almost) single-point perspective makes for an extremely dynamic composition. Great depth, too! Just one question ... where's Claude the Mouse? Or is it like finding the bunny on a Playboy cover?
jjsmlee
I added Claude (in front).

Amazing. I barely got seascapes to look this good in Bryce! Is this storyline posted anywhere?

AAAARRRGGHHH!! This is the work of the Devil himself.......only sorcery or witchcraft could conjure such forms!! No, really this is too good. Is there really no post work done here? I'm looking at the motion blur effects and can't work out how Bryce did this. I guess I'm hinting on to you to let us in on some of your secrets! I'm with the other guys here when they say its the best they've seen at Renderosity. What is the girls name and what is the background to the story?
jjsmlee
Post work was done in PhotoPaint. I will post some tutorials once I get a website set up. Thanks for the kind words. So far the story is about a woman, a mouse named Claude (see the little speck), and crazy aliens. More to follow.

Awesome. What more can I say?
