Description

I think I'm finished modeling my model of the G5. I've noticed a couple of other pictures of G5's on the site, hopefully they won't stop people from looking at mine. As far as I know I'm the only person that has submitted a picture of the inside of one of these. It was pretty interesting to notice just how much of the volume inside the G5 is devoted to cooling. Almost 50% is devoted to cooling the processors alone. That explains why the G5 is so much larger than the G4 even though it has less expansion. Maybe in the future i'll make a scene with a person using the computer, but I don't think I'm good enough to model a person yet, and I can't afford to buy poser right now. Modeled and rendered in Cinema 4D v.8 Texturing and post processing done in Painter 5 You're suggestions/comments are welcome.

I seem to get a lot of people telling me how much they hate macs. What's odd it that usually they've never actually used macs. Personally, aside from the lack of games, I don't think there's anything wrong with them. Modern macs almost never crash, and they're easy to set up and use.

very nice render and clean modeling... even if it is a mac :P

i've used them in magazine publishing and they're awesome computers. but for everyday stuff it's great to have a pc :)

ah very nice. macs aren't my preffered computer:) but this image has style and realism. excellent textures and light.

Actually the most probable reason the door is different is because of the G5's fancy low speed cooling system, which doesn't work if you remove the door. So apple probably decided it was ok to make it harder to open.
