Description

Not far from the Irish Coast lay a small village whose inhabitants were of a fiercly independent type, often emotional and hotheaded as the Irish can be. The peace they had been enjoying for some years suddenly ended when a raiding party landed on their coast. Cenn, a proud youth, seeing the longships coming from afar tells his beloved Erin to flee and hide in the forest at their secret meeting place and wait for him there. After hours of hearing only screams and the fury of battle raging, the rustling behind her was a welcome sign that Cenn was coming - how was she to know that Cenn had ceased breathing a short while ago? In anticipation of finding herself in his arms she turned only to face two of the strangers who had come to deprive her people of not only their belongings but, in many cases, their very lives. At that moment, the only thought on her mind was "Death before dishonour" as she prepared to plunge a dagger Cenn had given to her in her chest . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sigvad Torenson had been on Danish raiding parties for one year too many - he was planning on making this his last and let his son bring him spoils from now on As he approached Erin, the image of this young Celtic maiden on the ground about to kill herself sent a jolt through him and he was reminded of his very own Astrid, his daughter. His only urge was to stop this maiden before her last desperate act. . . Ok, don't ask me how this ends, years after the events bards and storytellers were still in disagreement as to what happened to Erin. The character of Erin was inspired by Kalypso's "Celtic Maiden" image. Credits: Tenten by Yamato, wearing a dress and sandals from Rubio, herjewellery from M&M's Iceni Queen and Valkyrie (DAZ), Vikings with some textures from the Saxon Expansion pack and Wolf's pelt from the upcoming Berserker in the Norse Characters Pack (DAZ) Background is by Nikitacreed (RDNA FS) with grass props from TranspondModualz' Grasslands (RDNA) and pile of rocks by Traveler (RDNA FS). NICELY textured and costumed. Good posing too...the only place it falls down there is a slightly static look that perhaps could be solved with a subtle motion blur. The girl is appropriately lovely...even tho her skirt is just an inch short of a PG rating.

Very thought provoking. Would Sigvad Torenson treat her as a daughter, if he is successful? Would Erin try to avenge her lover? Or does the story end here? It's better not to know I think. Thanks for another great rendering.
