This is one of those images that suggests sound to me: in this case, a booming drone on an uncomfortable lower-mid frequency... also occasional rustles :-)

I'm out of step. I don't see this image as creepy; the figure doesn't seem scary to me at all. I find the smile quite warm. It feels to me as though this figure as opened the door to let me out of somewhere dark. I love the way your image edges fade to nothingness at just the right point. Great!
