The fact that this has a dachshund in it makes it wonderful =) (I have a miniature Dachsy myself)... However, this image has some texturing issues (again not being mean only constructive) The textures on the side of the boathouse are a worldtop projection when they should be cubic/side/parametric. The textures ontop of the stone area are stretched, and this gives the illusion of wood planks perhaps, however they are still stretched. The image as a whole needs bump map in areas. Below the trees is? sand? Not quite sure here. The green rocks look a little strange (perhaps sinking all the rocks into the ground would look better) and you have a floating grey one there. The sky shows no sign of any "light" (though it is a very nice/ominous sky) yet the image is full of natural light. As there is no direct insinuation that the street lights are lit. One final thing I would suggest is that the street lights are placed a little randomly, perhaps some more order would clear this up. Sorry if I sound mean, I am just trying to give some healthy advice, hope you find it usefull. good luck.

This is more a statement of fact than a remark on the image itself, and I hope you don't misunderstand my intentions. I'm glad to see someone offering advice that can help you mfd. I've tried to help but I am a beginner also. The thing about it is, they should have seen this image as I did before you made all the changes the first time around, :) and what a major improvement you have made before posting it. It still has things to improve on yes, but I'll give you credit sir, you never give up. If anyone keeps trying to improve and learn, it's YOU sir. Some day I hope you have time to work with Bryce more than one hour a day. I'm sure that will be when we all see your work improve greatly. As for this image, IMO it's really nice because you used so many things to get to this end result. Keep going, you're doing just fine! Glad to see Ornlu offering the help newbies need so much. hugs mfd -SeaC-

Ornlu's suggestions are spot on. The atmosphere of the image is very good, you have the ability to depict lively scenes. My compliments.
