Whilst playing with various glass materials I came up with this - I liked it. Your comments are welcome. Max 4.2 - mental ray 2.1

Wow, it looks... glass-like! That's a hard effect to pull off, or at least I think so! Mind illuminating me as to how you did it?

Hi, It is a simple blend of 75% refraction 25% reflection (both using the raytrace sub map type - not a raytraced material) 10% opacity for the glass. Similar for the liquid, no reflection, opacity up to 15% and added a filter map for the colour. The model itself is simply a set of lathed splines and a few primitives with some nice area lighting - if you have more questions - post a comment or email me. Best regards
