From the real, to the surreal, Jai Johnson creates iconic masterpieces in portraiture, erotic, and pinup art. BIOPainting the erotic, the exotic, and the mystical allows Jai the opportunity to step beyond the boundaries created by society. They free her from what's expected, and allow her to express an individual uniqueness inherent to us all. From childhood her talent flourished as she strove to feel the freedom of her imagination, to experience it fully, and to give it the stage it deserves. She began drawing at the age of 5 and illustrated her first book - a children's book - at age 10. Publication ensued, and she went on to become not only a prolific artist, but also a published author and jewelry designer. Publications include artwork, photography, articles, non-fiction, fiction, a novel, and courses.
No matter how many past accomplishments she's had, Jai incessantly strives to develop uniquely creative innovations. A new phase in her artistic evolution bloomed when, a few short years ago, she found herself at death's door from toxic poisoning. The culprit? A particular glue used in jewelry design, and it forced her to leave the field. From this devastating experience, Jai found peace in her artistic creations once again. Another stumbling block reared its ugly head when Jai discovered she could no longer use any of the painting materials she loved - all are, unfortunately, deadly to her due to toxicity.
From this humbling experience, Jai created yet another new beginning as she took her 8 years of computer design work, added to that a Wacom tablet and pen, and learned how to paint all over again - this time using the computer as her canvas. Jai ceaselessly refines and extends her technique on a daily basis. She scours the world in search of the most exquisite subjects she can find and uses these to transform empty screens into the masterpieces so admired by a growing circle of appreciative collectors.
