Description

Used a technique for Poser 'tooning' (by SnowSultan) in Bryce. I switched to Camera space and flattened the vertical objects on the z-axis. No ambience, specularity, or bumping on the materials. An infinite light, no shadows, with low intensity behind the camera. The water and ground terrains are flattened on the y-axis. I originally had no atmosphere and no sun but it was a bit boring. I obviously didn't go 'all the way' with this to make it look like a 'toon'. My intention was simply to make a 2D-looking picture in Bryce using 3D objects. Equalized and sharpened with a very slight overall texture. JPG at under 60% but it's still a large file. The reds got quite smooshed. Vicky3, clothes, horse, and tack were imported in one piece. Piece of cake, actually. Over 300,000 polys just for that one object. Enjoy!

Very interesting! A two dimensional alternate Bryce universe.

may I say, a masterpiece? It reminds me of the Yugoslavian school of Naif painters. Never thought this could be possible with 3D without postwork. Congratulations.

I like this original render a lot. It's a unique style and I'm curious to see others like this ;0)

Captivating is the word that comes to mind. Vibrant colors. Excellent.

Yet another way to use Bryce, yet to my eyes it does not look like a Bryce render(which is the whole point, I know) I really like the vibrant colors, reminds me of a lovely Russian jewelry box my grandmother had. Wonderful work here!

Delightful, and an interesting adaptation, of the Poser process. Off method, she the horse rider is lovily and attractively inviting.

Pardon me for being inarticulate, but ... WOW! Such a mature and controlled sense of color placement. While the image does have its appealing "flatness," I never would have guessed that you'd used the z-toon technique. It served your image very well. I've never seen a Bryce image that looked quite like this. Admirable work.

very interesting work... Thanks for passing on your technique. This kind of art would work well as a ceramic texture too. :)

Wonderfully imaginative! You've come up with a very creative way to Bryce. Well done!
