Description
The silence -- that's what gave her the chills. Shit -- the anti-grav pads on the alien zoners didn't even hum.
Bouncing light off her left shoulder glinted yellow, refracted through the plexi-glass columns as she rounded the curve. She was never so relieved to see death-skull Billy Zen psyched on point.
A soft pop in the headset's commlink pinched a squirt of adrenaline from somewhere in the prelapsarian base of her brain:
"17:30. RoboMech Cicero. Status log: Operation Finger Dance. Artifact being transported to LZ-Delta."
Goddamn Miralex, she spat, just can't wait to slipstream off this golden cesspool.
