Hi, thank you for your comments. More DOF will destroy the background. The contrasty colors are a matter of taste. I like it that way more.
Here is a Podest rendering of the Dinosaur with "normal" coloring:

And here is a close-up of the skin of the brother: CloseUp

Looking very good! I agree in part with MartinK in that the background could use a slightly different/softer colour tone, but as you said, it's mostly a matter of taste.

Great job! Will it be in "walking with dinosaurs II"??? ;)

Samir, I prefer the 'normal' coloring. I am viewing on a PC so that could exacerbate the contrast issue, if you've created on a Mac...

How cant you agree on taste? Without sounding selfish, theres nothing wrong about anatomical correctness of the dinosaur nor is it possible to anybody to judge correctness of nature environement for its vast randomness (including me :). So the only thing is the effect of coloring, and how can this not be a matter of taste? Can you please elaborate that?

If this would be of topic photorealism, I would surely understand for then the "normal" colors would fit far better here. @MartinK: Im on PC too :o) I also have a very bright and slightly ghosty version of it here: Bright version Maybe you like that one more. Thanks for your comments.

Nice you explained how it would be from a compositional viewpoint. But think about a hunter nowadays. A lot of them do have camouflage colored skin to not be seen by their pray before they attack. Its a protection system of nature (see lions in africa (where I come from ;). You will never see them attacking you for the bushes do almost have the same color as their skin). Now, wouldnt it be a good thing to have a carnivor dinosaur to have such a protection system. So, where should somebody lay weight on?Evolutionary or rather kind specific parameters or effectivity of compositional correctness... IMO its a matter of taste (of course to a certain degree!) But you havent elaborated why you disagree its a matter of taste? For this is not a discussion forum you can also email me personally and we can discuss this. Best Samir

OK, I see your point. And I guess I didn't read the above coments very well because the "matter of taste" issue is in regards to the colors you've used, right? Ok, Ok, I was wrong. :P It's a fine model and you certainly wouldn't see it coming because it is camouflaged quite well. Nice work. Regards -- 3d_e

Wonderful work. Shouldn't it be bright blue with red and yellow stripes though?? ;)
