A little rough, but once again very nice. Your voice is strikingly sincere. You got several important things right. The narrator's reluctance to explore in favor of trying to fix his/her ship. The fear of losing sight of the only familiar thing. Details like that build a reader's confidence in the author, help suspend our disbelief because we know we would act the same. A fact of which you are obviously well aware. Looking forward to more.

Thanks Purah, I appreciate your comments. Please check back here for changes. These are written on the fly and not very well edited. I didn't concieve of the idea of writing this as a serial until I had already posted the first one. It is challenging me to write an entry every day or so in order to hold the interest of anyone who choses to follow it. I am going back and editing as I work on the next one. Perhaps the insights gained from watching this process might be of use to someone in their own work. S
