I just love this!! Great composition and excellent action posing! The only thing I did notice...and had to look for this since everything else is SO well done...is the lack of any bump on the shields and the armor on the fallen character. Just my .02 ;-)!

Lololita, it was actually the Romans who got a severe beating. In 9AD the Romans lost about 20.000 (3 Legions) in the Battle for the Teutoberg Wald wich lasted about 3 days. The battle of Teutoberger Wald effectively cast the Romans out of Germania.

Great job and the scene speaks for itself. I've had Vue for 8 months and have yet to put somethind worth looking at. I keep going back to Bryce as that's what I've used since the 2 version.

Astounding - with enough machine power, you could make "Gladiator" as an all-CG movie with this kind of quality, David. I'll never understand why the movie studios don't wake up and "smell the Poser". Images like yours ought to be a true alarm clock ;o)

BRILLIANT! Just amazing, David; the posing, lighting, expressions; the details like the phalerae on the centurion's uniform; totally excellent. Makes me feel their anger and confusion.

This is a minor nitpick, but the fallen soldier's shield looks too neatly placed there, almost like a blanket, as opposed to looking like it had just fallen when he was taken down. Nevertheless, a totally excellent, high quality image! Good lighting, good composition, the texturing is well done, the figures are highly detailed. The fact that the whole image can stand alone with no postwork is a testament to the quality of the materials and the artist. :)
