Description

"Following the destruction of the border fortress and its defenders, Zrie pushed his army through the rocky forested ridgelines and across the shallows of the Misty River towards the Northsea plain. While things had been going well, he knew that the closer he got to Northsea, the more his army would be noticed, and the more resistance would stiffen." This is the fifth in the "Siege" series which loosely chronicles the invasion of Northsea by an undead army. Originally this pic wasn't going to be in the series, but I kind of got inspired by an idea of Commander_18's and by some of the awesome landscape images going on around here, most notably by Mel3d and bs58. A linking picture between what happened at the border fortress and the next stage of the story provided a good opportunity to have my first serious attempt at a landscape. 24 terrains, 600 skeletons, and 800 trees later and I've got to a point where I'm more or less happy with the result (or at least happy enough to post it). Please let me know what you think and thanks a lot for taking the time to view and for all your support.

well Flak, you've done it again, worth staying up for too,I like the sense of movement as your eyes follow the army across the water and round to the 2 figures, watching this army's exploits has certain parallels with the world today, and a certain army still thinking it can conquer the world.the only thing I can find wrong is maybe the rocks bottom centre, look a bit blurred, maybe a little to digital,if that makes any sense, but I'm searching for something here just 'cos noone else has, lol, cant wait for the next installment

Great pov and composition! I love the charachters in the front and the height they look from. The background mountains could show some more ridges disapearing in myst for more sence of dept/scale

I love it! Wonderful composition, POV, lighting, great terrain work. This little masterpiece has all the "Flak-esque" touches too(army of the undead, astronomical amount of polygons, incredible amounts of detail. Great series, keep it up!

Wonderful Flak, when you first showed me a wip of this i had no idea how beautiful the results would accually be. The Added touch of the waterfall and the birds brings the whole thing to "life", despite the vast number of undead, which look great as well
