Description

16 thousand grays swim from Baja, Mexico to Alaska every spring, and back again every fall. It obviously knackered this one, it was asleep on the surface. The rainbow is from the mist in its exhalation. IF you've ever stood on a mud beach at low tide on a very hot day, you've smelled a gray whale's breath. Thanks for looking.

Jim, thanks so much! It has been a delight watching your gallery grow.... I DO love the rainbow, as Ralph suggested I would ...but the information you have added is even more fun for me..never realized that whales slept on the surface...never even thought about it!! And now i also have a clear sense of what wahle breath is like...hmmm.....!!

Incredible image of a magnificent creature! And to think a rainbow formed from the mist of exhalation, is simply devine! Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more photos in your gallery. :)
