Description

One of a series of images in which I have explored the mathematical structures called "strange attractors"; this particular series focused on images whose structure gave some illusion of depth despite their being strictly two-dimensional plots. There are no actual lines used in the creation of any of the images in these series: each is composed entirely of single pixel dots, of one shade of color or another, plotted individually in a non-linear pattern. [created with custom perl software]

This one suggests one of those diagrams NASA scientists use to catch the presence of noble gases in the atmospheres of planets... fascinating to say the least :)
