Project Scope: I need to create about 30 illustrations for a print project. All the illustrations will be printed in black & white and I want them to be in the same style, which is based on the interior art of Pulp Magazines from the 1940s (I'll post some reference scans later). I'm currently experimenting with combining multiple renders in Photoshop and merging them into the final image. This first test (which is close to what I want) was created from four renders: one sketch, two cartoon style (with different lighting) and a base full texture render. I then used the unsharp mask filter to bring out the edges and lines, applied the threshhold filter to another layer to create VERY strong blacks, and added some white lines to better separate his right arm from the rest of his body. I'm going to try some more poses and new figures and see if I can refine the style to look more like brush and pen, and to see if I can duplicate the effects in other illustrations. ------------------------- Figure is Michael v.1 with Poserworld Props and free Daz Western Weapons.
